Since the Lords Group Foundation was established it's purpose as been to turm goodwill of our business and the commitment of our colleagues into meaningful support for the communities we serve.
With over £338,000 distributed to 80 charities and an estimated 20,000 people benefiting across health, education, and community programmes. We are especially proud that much of this impact has been delivered through smaller, local organisations.
Here are some of those projects
East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) is a charity that cares for life-threatened babies, children, and young people across East Anglia, as well as supporting their families. For families caring for a life-threatened child, and those who have been bereaved, EACH is a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time.
Lords Group Foundation has provided a grant to support EACH to continue providing its vital services including end-of-life care, specialist nursing, symptom management, short breaks, well-being activities, therapies, counselling and bereavement support. Aylesbury Youth Motor Project (AYMP) provides hands-on motor vehicle experience and qualifications to disadvantaged young people aged 12-25.
This alternative route within education has been proven to engage even the most detached young person. By working in a live workshop, young people gain vocational skills, communication and team working skills.
Impact
Aylesbury Youth Motor Project supports young people beyond vocational skills, helping them change attitudes and reduce re-offending, and antisocial behaviour.
One example is the story of Lewis, a very quiet 14-year-old who showed difficulties with social interaction and communication.
He found it challenging to follow a structured lesson plan, was anxious in a group setting, and would not eat or drink around people he did not feel comfortable with.
Despite his anxiety, it was clear that he would become a great asset to the team due to his eagerness and attitude to learning. Lewis discovered a passion for cars and decided to pursue a career in the motor industry.
The Project allowed Lewis to take things at his own speed and he gradually built friendships and even started eating meals with his friends. He progressed well in the classroom and was working hard towards his Entry Level Certificate, along with being one of the most capable students in the workshop. Lewis secured a two-week work placement at a classic car restoration garage.
Lewis secured a two-week work placement at a classic car restoration garage. He was delighted! At the end of his placement, Lewis was offered a permanent position alongside attending Bicester College to continue his Institute of Motor Industry Certification.
Our Support
Lords Group Foundation provided a grant to AYMP, which has been used to buy new overalls, protective equipment, and tools for the students. The students have their own tools for the first time and are taking pride in looking after them.
Lords Aylesbury has supported AYMP with other projects, such as donating timber for the renovation of their laundry area.
Southmead Project supports people that have experienced abuse as well as people with a drug or alcohol dependency.
They provide free counselling and support, not only to survivors of abuse or trauma, but also to people who are supporting a loved one with an addiction. Southmead Project offers a range of free activities in the community that create a safe space for people to build their confidence and social skills.
Impact
Southmead Project has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of people.
One example is the story of Melanie, who had experienced abuse. She felt protected by anger and frustration and used every opportunity to vent her emotions. The team at Southmead helped her to navigate her emotions, helped her to build trust, and recognise her potential.
Eventually, she began to deal with stressful situations calmly and had more awareness of her boundaries. The final sessions at Southmead allowed her to create new goals and she left feeling positive about the future.
Our Support
Lords Group Foundation provided a grant to Southmead Project, which has been used toward the launch of two new counselling groups, which aim to support 120 people with practices for coping with trauma.
APP Bristol have supported the charity to improve their plumbing and heating facilities. The counselling rooms are much more comfortable for the clients.
Sudbury Defibrillators is a local charity dedicated to saving lives by improving access to defibrillators and increasing public confidence in responding to cardiac emergencies. With support from the Lords Trading Group Foundation, the charity is launching a new Mobile Defibrillation Support and Training Station to attend community events across Sudbury and surrounding villages.
The mobile station will provide hands-on defibrillator and CPR training using practice defibrillators and mannequins, supported by clear information displays and a charity-branded gazebo. Volunteers will help demystify defibrillators, showing residents how easy they are to use and empowering them with vital, life-saving skills.
Each person trained becomes a potential lifesaver. By taking this training directly into the community, Sudbury Defibrillators is creating a ripple effect that strengthens local resilience and builds a culture of preparedness and care.
The project is supported by a strong partnership with Hevey – Sudbury. Adam supported the installation of a defibrillator at our Hevey branch in Sudbury, and the charity continues to work closely with the branch to develop further community-focused initiatives. Plans include running awareness and training sessions at the Sudbury branch and showroom, strengthening engagement for both the charity and the business.
This initiative represents a meaningful investment in community safety, helping to ensure more people in Sudbury have the confidence and knowledge to act when it matters most.
